Story
I am the Chief Pharmacist at the Royal Marsden. On a daily basis I see the amazing advances that are being made in the care and treatment of our patients. Over my career I have been privileged to have been able to witness drugs developed by the research teams at the Royal Marsden progress from being used in very earliest of clinical trials to becoming fully licensed medicines used in the treatment of thousands of patients.
This research can only continue through the support and help of our charity.
In 2022 I will be running 2 events for The Royal Marsden..
The Thames Path 100. A 100 mile race from London to Oxford over the weekend of 7/8th May. 100 miles is a ridiculous distance to run but I hope to complete this race in about 22 hours....
The London marathon in October 2022. I will be attempting to break the World Record for running a marathon dressed as a tree. I will be fundraising for our new Oak Unit that is currently being built in Sutton. The world record is 4 hours 5 minutes and 6 seconds...My Personal Best for a marathon is 3 hours 30...so definitely doable.
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. We ensure our nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world. From funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
