I am going to undertake a 5 day trek across part of the SAHARA DESERT in Morocco.This was originally planned for April, but will now be in February.

So I will be off to the Sahara on 23rd February 2012.

I want to raise as much money as I can for Cancer Research UK. The work this institution carries out really does have an impact on every family in the UK. Each year new ways are found to improve the lives and expected lifespans of cancer sufferers, and an awful lot of money is required to keep doing this year after year.In order to raise as much money as is possible, I have fully funded this event myself , so that ;

EVERY PENNY  DONATED WILL GO TO THE CHARITY

I'll keep you up dated as we get nearer the date, but for now I am just about to start my training programme.

Mid January update.. Training is going well, new boots are "run in" and I'm beginning to do longer walks.As the date has come forward by 7 weeks , I'll need to push on.

End of January update..Although the boots are run in , the feet and legs need a bit more work!. I'm up to a 5 / 6 miles walk every day or alternate day.In the next two weeks I need to get up to 7 /10 miles in one hit..Phew!! that seems like a long way.

7th February....Target reached!!!! But let's not stop there! Let's see how much we REALLY CAN raise. A massive thankyou to all who have donated

20th February, Its getting a bit close now.Just two more long training walks then its down to Gatwick on Wednesday for an overnight and a very early (04.30am ) start on Thursday.

I'll update when I get back..........Wish me luck

1st March

Well I did it.I'm back now after an amazing adventure. I've added a couple of pictures so you can see what it was like, but they don't really do it justice.

I'm still collecting sponsorship, so lets see how far we can go!

14th March

Been back two weeks now, the legs are just about back to normal, and the fundraising is still going well ( £1954 ) as I write.

We were very fortunate to have a great guy on the trek who has put together photos from all the trekkers and compiled a 10 minute video which he has put on YouTube. If you'd like to see it go to the link
