Story
I was inspired by the example of Max Woosey (BBC News in January), raising money for his local hospice by camping in his garden. And then, a mailshot from ShelterBox about their 'give a tent for Lent' campaign.
Knowing that ShelterBox is an innovative, practical and dynamic charity run from the UK (Truro, Cornwall), I thought I would do something. Maybe camp in a tent for Lent!
So, here we are! I haven't camped since the Scouts and Lent is early this year; minus temp's likely. But there must be something better than staying indoors for the lockdown and if I can give up a bit of comfort with a wacky idea, so that you donate some money to an excellent charity, then I am happy to go for it!
Just because I set my ADVANCE target at five tents, please don't feel that you can't give more. ShelterBox's target is 100 tents for this campaign. Maybe you could support someone else who is giving a tent for Lent or do something yourself.
Thanks for reading my page and for any donation you can make or action you can take to support ShelterBox's work.
