Story
My name is Robbie Walsh and I'm a jockey.
This year, I will be taking part in a few different challenges to support a charity that is close to my heart called Contact, the charity for families with disabled children.
My 5 year old son Leighton, has Congenital Hyperinsulinism, an extremely rare condition that means he has abnormally high levels of insulin. Leighton is one of the very few in the world with this condition. He is on medication at the moment to manage it but they can cause liver failure.
I want to support families in a similar situation so I'm wearing sponsored Contact branded silks to raise awareness of this fantastic charity on race days. I ride for trainer Ian Williams of Dominion Stables in Birmingham, and race across the country at many high profile races.
On Sunday, March 29th I will be taking part in Tough Guy in Wolverhampton - a brutal obstacle course race to test participants to the limits.
Later this spring and together with Ian Williams and several other friends from the stables, we will be doing a skydive in aid of Contact.
Please give generously to our page. The money we raise will help Contact reach even more families with disabled children with the support, help and advice they need, when they need it. Together we can make a difference to thousands of other families with disabled children!
