Story

On Sunday 12th August Andy & I will be completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge; a 40 kilometre hike over three mountains and a total elevation of 5,250 ft with a target time of 12 hours.

The first recorded ascent was in 1887 in a time of 10 hours (on a slightly shorter route), so Andy & I will be pushing to match this incredible achievement for Everyman, a charity (branch of the ICR) focusing on the research of testicular and prostate cancer.

As well as our hike, Andy and I are looking to our sponsors to give our challenge an added edge. To incentivise your donation, please include a request / extra challenge and – providing it doesn’t risk my life (Andy’s is less important) – we will try our best to accommodate. Just remember it’s pretty cold on a mountain...

On a personal level, a member of my extended family was recently diagnosed with testicular cancer and your donation will support the world-leading work of scientists at the Institute of Cancer Research. Please look at http://everyman-campaign.org/index.shtml for more information. Thank you in advance for your kind donations (and not so kind challenges)

RCN exempt charity status
Everyman is an appeal run by The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR). Every year some 10,000 men lose their lives to prostate cancer and over 2,000 others have their world turned upside down by a diagnosis of testicular cancer. These men are the reason we are fundraising for male specific cancers.
