Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My reasons for doing this 450km ride were threefold. Firstly, to support my old friend and colleague Duncan Wilkinson whose wife Sue has recently had a tumour successfully removed and is nearing the end of her chemotherapy treatment - Duncan wanted to give a little back to support Macmillan in all the good work they do, and I wanted to help.

Secondly, my own family received a great deal of practical help, support and advice from Macmillan when my sister had breast cancer.

Finally, my wife is involved in the treatment of cancer and as she put it - "I couldn't do my job effectively without Macmillan".

So I have a target of £2,500 and I need your and Sarah's help to achieve it.  As most of you will know I have been quite unwell recently and although on the mend am not allowed to undertake this challenge.  Fortunately I can send my deputy - who has stepped into my shoes but not my "Borat" outfit!  It will probably be a non-stop trip as she has great psychological difficulty with cycling cleats.......

We would be very grateful for any donation towards this very worthwhile cause.
