Story

My son Mark was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in January and has suffered a year of operations and Chemotherapy. Warwick and Coventry Hospitals (especially the Aylesford Unit) have been marvellous, but I want to help to ensure that this terrible disease is beaten.

I'm no longer built for running marathons, cycling up mountains or swimming oceans - but I can grow facial hair. So I am participating in "Decembeard" - a fundraising initiative from Bowel Cancer UK. I will shave for the last time on 30th November and lock away the razor until New Years Day.

If the money I raise can help one person avoid this disease or help one person spot the warning signs early - then a month of an itchy face will be a price worth paying.
