Story
As neighbours we have all talked about the work we put in is great for the local community, bringing smiles to everyone's faces but could it really benefit others by collecting for a charity? As things have grown over the years and the number of visitors we get each year increases why not try!?
This year has been especially challenging on a personal and national level. Personally we had two households affected by cancer this year. Both houses had young children within them. Whilst one was fortunate to get the right treatment at the right time and is now on the road to recovery we also tragically lost one of our neighbours. It would have been easy to choose a cancer charity, but the fact that she left behind a husband and two young boys, really struck a nerve. Whilst I know they have a fantastic family and support network around them my thoughts were - what if they didn't, who would be there for them. So that was my inspiration for looking for a charity that supports these vulnerable people in a truly sad time in their lives.
Even if every visitor gives £1 that would be fantastic!! So please if you have been in the past or come in the future, if you can, please donate what you can to make it even more worth while. It will certainly motivate us to do it again next year!
Thank you and Merry Christmas to everyone
