Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The ride was completed at John O Groats at 19.00 hours on 26th June 2010. It took us 8 days and we rode 923 miles according to the Garmin Thanks to all the generous and welcoming people we met along the way. This has been a fantastic experience and made all the more fantastic as it will help others in time to come.
This was the story.....
This year myself and 4 pals are undertaking the Ulitimate UK Cycling Challenge, LEJOG or Land's End to John O'Groats to use it's full title. Starting from Land's End on 19th June this year we will travel just under 900 miles on our bikes during the 8 days in order to get to our destination of John O'Groats on Saturday 26th June. It will be a tough and arduous ride and will take an awful lot of training to ensure that we are all fit enough to meet and beat the challenge!
I will be personally funding all my expenses which means that all the money raised here will go directly to Macmillan Support. The reason for doing this ride is this....Last year,Farrell Blaney, my father-in law was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. Sadly and very recently he passed away. Macmillan were tremendous in the support they gave Farrell, his family and people close to him. This support is still there and so I want to give them our support in return.
