Story
The back end of 2017 was nothing short of Hell for all my family. We were told at the end of October that Mum had developed breast cancer again... but the time it had spread viciously throughout her body.
Anyone who has been in our position will know there are no words to describe how you feel when these words are delivered.
We had a bit of time... not a lot, but a bit. The next 5 weeks were taken up with frequent visits to various hospitals, over night stays, medication timetables, lots of tears and not a lot of sleep.
We spent mum's birthday around her bed at the hospital with presents cards, balloons and smiles. The following night we would say goodbye forever.
The care and support which she received from all the hospitals was amazing. But the care afforded to her by the primrose unit at Bedford Hospital ensured she was comfortable and as well looked after as she could be in her final weeks with us.
I have set a target of £1,000. If (when) I reach this total I have pledged to shave my head. The loss of hair is something mum went through twice and as everyone knows how precious mine is to me I'm hoping it will spur a few more donations to come my way!
