Brighter Futures needs your support to raise £2.9 million for a new radiotherapy facility here in Swindon.
Story
So those that know me are aware that in March 2016 that after some very sore throats i was diagnosed with throat cancer, as there is no Radiotherapy unit in Swindon myself and my wife Anna spent 6 weeks spending weekdays living in Oxfords Churchill Hospital Car park in our motorhome.
The treatment and care we received was first class and helped us through a very difficult time. Whilst there we noticed endless streams of Swindon taxis ferrying cancer patients from Swindon a trip i am sure they could do without knowing how ill it can make you feel.
Anyway touch wood things are looking OK for me health wise now so i have decided to do this mammoth motorcycle ride from Swindon to Cyprus to raise money and awareness for the fundraising currently going on for our own Swindon Radiotherapy unit.
They need to raise a total of £2.9 million by November this year the current figure raised as i write this is £2,200,700 . I am setting up a Just Giving page so people can donate towards this and will be organising other stuff to help raise more funds before i set of in Sept to Cyprus.
I am still finalizing the route and all the details but as soon as i have this i will post it on this page. I also intend to post pictures and Video (internet permitting) during the trip so you can see where i am, We picked up the bike i am using for the trip yesterday its a 1992 Yamaha FJ1200 i need to check it over but its looking good, see the pictures posted on this page.
