Story
I love running, having started just 6 years ago, at the age of 52.
However, not content with running around the block, I am taking myself completely out of my comfort zone and walk/running the Pen Llyn Summer 50 mile Ultra on 3 July 2021.
To keep myself going, both in training and on the day, I am going to be raising much needed funds for Abersoch RNLI, which, like all other Charities, has struggled to raise funds, during the Pandemic.
The most that I have ever run before is a marathon on 2 occasions, so having decided to take part in the PenLlyn “Beautifully Brutal” Ultra, I have picked just that – a beautiful, but brutal 50 miles around Pen Llyn.
In Wales, the RNLI has been operating at full capacity since the start of lockdown our service has been rescuing people throughout the Coronavirus pandemic and our heroic crews commitment to saving lives has not stopped. Unfortunately, our ability to raise funds has been limited. The average lifeboat station in Wales costs £155,000 to run and we are going to have a significant shortfall in income due to the Coronavirus. We are asking all our friends and communities to donate what they can to keep us running. From Flint around the coast to Penarth, we will always be there to keep you and your loved ones safe, on our watch, there will be no preventable deaths on Welsh coasts. Please help us fulfil that mission.
All the money raised by this page will be restricted to Abersoch RNLI Lifeboat Station.
