Story
We love a good cause here in Kilmore Quay and they don't come much better thank the local RNLI station. The RNLI volunteers put themselves out all year round, so we have decided to come together and put ourselves out by dipping ourselves (even if it's just the toes!) into the Atlantic Ocean 20 times during December.
For each adult willing to join us we are asking for a donation of €20 and for each child (only if they will be accompanied by and adult) a donation of €10.
For anyone who thinks we are mad, but would like to support us, any donations are very gratefully received.
All monies raised will go directly to Kilmore Quay RNLI Station.
Our RNLI lifeboats in Ireland protect hundreds of communities through our 24-hour search and rescue service. They rely on the safest, most reliable lifeboats and modern stations to launch from.
Irelands unrivalled coasts and inland waters are valued by local communities and visitors alike, with millions travelling to enjoy them, and work on them each year. But the water remains an unpredictable environment that can catch people out. People will always need our help and we will always be there to answer that call.
Keeping a modern fleet of lifeboats maintained, fuelled and ever ready to go to the rescue from all 36 of the lifeboat stations in Ireland is expensive and we rely entirely on voluntary donations to ensure this service is maintained. Add to that crew training and kit, and the euros start to add up. It costs an average of 165k to run lifeboat stations in Ireland but recently, with the implications of Covid-19, we havent been able to fundraise as normal to keep our lifeboats afloat.
We rely on donations from you the public to continue saving lives at sea and on inland waters - your donation to this page will help support the running of the following lifeboat stations in Ireland:
