Story
We have been saddened to learn of the severe lack of basic medical supplies, food shortages and lack of education for the Syrian and Palestinian refugee children living in Lebanon.
Lebanon has the highest per capita refugee concentration in the world. Millions of people have fled to Lebanon mostly from Syria and Palestine, only to find themselves surrounded by the effects of poverty and conflict once more.
A staggering 78% of Syrian refugees are food insecure and urgently need help to access food. 54% of school aged refugees are out of school. People in Lebanon are facing a devastating financial crisis - prices have skyrocketed, making it hard for families to afford basic essentials, including food, healthcare, and education.
The continuing violence in Syria means that these refugees in Lebanon can’t go home. Those who ordinarily work are restricted to low-paid daily labour, and have been pushed out of work due to the pandemic.
We can't imagine being in a situation like this and wanted to do something to help these communities who are in need.
Later this year we will be joining Human Appeal and travelling to Lebanon to personally deliver essential medical supplies in Saida, Beirut, Bekaa, North Lebanon and Baalbek.
£30 – Provide a family with 2 bread deliveries per week for two months.
£60 – Help support our emergency medical and education work in Lebanon.
£70 - Provide a nutritious food parcel to feed a family for a month.
£70 – Provide a family with 20 litres of fuel, keeping them warm through winter.
