Three Peaks Challenge · 1 March 2022

We support Birmingham Children's Hospital to improve the lives of sick children

Story

I climbed Mount Snowdon last year for the first time which was very difficult for me, and this has motivated me to do The National Three Peaks Challenge. This will probably be the hardest challenge I have taken up. Because of this I want to also raise money for a charity close to everyone's hearts in the Midlands "Birmingham Children Hospital".  This hospital has helped thousands of families across the Midlands saved the lives of many children.

It has touched the lives of many local families and I want to raise some money so that we can give back to this great institution, and continue its legacy for many years to come, so it can continue its good work and maybe help your family one day.

This challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, often within 24 hours. The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft) - twice the ascent of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, over a similar total walking distance. The total driving distance is 462 miles. The three mountains are: Snowdon, in Wales (1085m)Scafell Pike, in England (978m)Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1345m).

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
