In memory of Khairun Nessa
Alhamdulillah! The blessed month of Ramadan is upon us once again! One of the doors that Allah (SWT) has opened to His slaves to gain huge rewards in the month of Ramadan is through Sadaqah (giving charity/alms). Lets help those in NEED!

Story

Assalamualaikum dear respected brothers and sisters. My beloved grandmother Khairun Nessa had passed away from cancer in 2012 and grandfather Sozzad Ali from renal failure in 1998 and gone back to their Creator, the supreme and the most Merciful Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) so I’m raising money in memory of them to provide a life-saving water well in areas most deprived of it.

I’m raising funds to provide a community motor-installed water well in my grandparents’ names that will supply fresh water to an entire community/village. Cap Foundation will select the most deprived and rural villages from their waiting list to receive fresh water and so I request your support to help me contribute as much as possible and give life-saving water. The water wells will each cost £2500 altogether and will go as deep as 800-1000 ft below to bring water free from arsenic and iron In Sha Allah.

Charity in Islam takes many forms and the two most essential are Zakat (Obligatory charity) and Sadaqah (Voluntary charity). Our Prophet (SAW) was asked fayi sadaqa afdhal - which sadaqah, which charity, is the best? - and He Rasul Ullah (SAW) responded by saying saqiul Maa - A Drink of Water.

Abu Hurairah narrated that Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “When a man dies, his good deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and righteous offspring who will pray for him.” (Muslim) Commenting on this hadith (saying), Imam An-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “The scholars said, the meaning of this hadith is that the deeds of the deceased come to an end as soon as he or she dies, and the renewal of reward ceases for him or her, except in these three cases because he or she is the cause of them:

  • his or her offspring is counted among his or her earnings,
  • the knowledge that he or she leaves behind through teaching or writing,
  • ongoing charity, i.e., a waqf (Islamic endowment).”

So let's bring the whole family together and help those in need! Please take part in this blessed journey with me and help me to provide water to the destitute with your Zakat and Sadaqah. May Allah accept this from all of us and bring all the blessings to our family. Ameen.

Thank you,

Riyaadh Hussain
