Story
Thanks for visiting our Just Giving page.
Symondsbury Estate has built a community built art installation memorial on Colmers Hill to remember 100 years since the end of WWI. The memorial is made up of handmade poppies, made by the local schools, communities and groups in Dorset and tied down to netting, kindly donated by Bridport net and rope businesses, to form a poppy river down the hill. It's over 150m long - made up of over 20,000 handmade poppies!
The installation is lit every day from Thursday 8th November until Sunday 11th November from 4.30pm.
We want to thank all of the schools, groups, communities and businesses who have already helped us with materials, awareness and poppy making. We are using this page to raise money for The Royal British Legion and hope that The River of Poppies will raise awareness of the cause. If you are interested in becoming part of the project, please send us a message!
