Story
Hi. Having visited Rwanda three times already and enjoyed cycling each morning before breakfast, I thought it would be a great way to raise publicity and awareness for the charity Rwanda Aid by cycling from the capital Kigali down to the remote south-west to the town Kamembe, where Rwanda Aid is based.
There are hundreds of people, especially women and children, who benefit from the support offered by Rwanda Aid. The charity runs a residential centre for homeless children (called Baho Neza Mwana), a residential centre for disabled children (called Ngwino Nawe) as well as a large number of sustainable projects.
On my trip I will first spend two days riding my 16 year old hybrid bike through the country, before visiting some of the individual projects to see the impact they have on the people who work and live there.
