Story
Welcome to the charity page for the infamous ridgeway riders. Between the 11th-14th August, 7 of surreys finest are looking to do the county proud by tackling the monstrous cycle route most famously known as King Alfred’s Way. Over a 4 (maybe 5) day period of blood, sweat, tears and a lot of elf bars being consumed, all of us are going to tackle over 350km of treacherous terrain over the borders of 5 different counties in Southern England.
We have chosen Anthony Nolan as our charity as a friend to all of us and someone who we were at school with for 7 years has undergone an extremely tough time recently with cancer and we all believe this is the least we can do to contribute to a charity which has helped him and helps an untold amount of other people with blood cancer. Below is a little bit about the charity:
Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer or blood disorder. We do this by matching incredible individuals willing to donate their stem cells to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant. We also carry out cutting edge scientific research, fund specialist post-transplant nurses and support patients and their families through the transplant process and beyond. We won’t stop until we save the lives of everyone who needs a stem cell transplant. Every penny you donate brings us closer to that day.
