STOP PRESS - It's getting personal. Since we started fund-raising, Robert Fort's sister-in-law has been diagnosed with myeloma and, on Easter Monday, we received the sad news that Alex Driver's dad, Trevor, a true Wharfedale club man, had died from cancer at the age of 65. Now read on....
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are a group of "mature" Wharfedale RUFC supporters who believe in using our sport to help others.
For this, our third "Cavalry Club on Wheels" event, we will cycle 350 miles over 3.5 days, from Wharfedale RUFC in the Yorkshire Dales to Worthing RUFC on the south coast, in search of some sunshine and in time for the fixture between the two clubs on 26 April.
In the past two seasons, we have raised £13,000 for Wharfedale Fell Rescue and Yorkshire Air Ambulance, with rides from Cambridge RUFC and Richmond RFC to Wharfedale. This year, we are aiming to raise £10,000 for Manorlands hospice, our local Sue Ryder care home. Everyone knows someone who has needed care at some time in their lives. Sue Ryder cares for all and needs our support. So - please dig deep and sponsor us. However much you can afford, rest assured we will have earned it!! And, by the way, we are paying all our own costs, so everything you give will go to Sue Ryder/Manorlands. Thank you!
Donating through JustGiving is straightforward, quick and secure (just like Wharfedale's handling!). Your details are secure and your donation will go straight to Sue Ryder/Manorlands, so it is the most efficient way for us to do this. Thank you again.
