Story
On the 25th Sept I will be attempting to ride 100 miles through the hilly Cotswold countryside in aid of this great charity.
Thankfully I've not personally had to call on their services but they do great work helping out children going through cancer treatment by providing them with bikes and adapted trikes to allow them to just be kids again for a while.
My best memories when I was a kid was messing around on my bike with my mates, having races, occasionally seeing who could do the biggest skid... if the team at CFC can help bring some of this joy into the lives of children having a tough time then this can only be a good thing to help them to cope with the situation and onward through recovery. As a parent there is also no better feeling in the world than seeing that innocent joy on the face of your child as they are doing something they love - this must be doubly precious to the parents of children who have watched their child go through treatment for this horrible illness.
Some more info about CFC:
Approximately 2,400 children and young people (up to, and including the age of 18) are diagnosed with cancer each year in the UK. We are passionate about helping all of these families along this difficult journey. We help children to regain their physical fitness and mental wellness by giving them new bikes, adapted trikes and specialist support during treatment and into recovery. Since the charity began in 2005 we have awarded over 8,000 bikes and trikes and we can only continue to do this with the support of our amazing fundraisers!
Thank you!
