Story
The Ride of the Roses 2008!
raising money for the
Yorkshire Air Ambulance
112 Miles in 2 days over some
very hilly terrain!!!
We're cycling from the University of York to Lancaster University with the guys from CharityAdventure.org.uk to raise much needed funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance!
TRACK US LIVE (from Sat 8th - Sun 9th March)!!!
Event Itinerary:* We set off on the morning of Saturday 8th March from the
grounds of York University and make our way North towards
Ripon before turning west and heading through Pateley Bridge
and Grassington. We stop at the Malham Hill Top Farm Bunk
Barn for the night
Distance: 72 miles
* On Sunday 9th March we quickly assemble the bikes and
then set off for Lancaster University via Long Preston,
Slaidburn and Dunsop Bridge where we finish the journey
before heading back to York and a warm bed!
Distance 40 miles.
The route is mainly traffic free - we trundle through countryside and amazing views. It's a tough ride with climbs on the first day totalling 4768 feet!!
We really need your help to raise as much money as we can for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance! They need over £6500 per day to keep their two emergency helicopters in the air. Please help us by donating online now. The whole process is completely secure. Many thanks.
