Story
Following our annual triathlon fundraiser in memory of our good friend Chris, BCRT kindly offered us a place to participate in the Ride London 100 event.
As per our last fundraising efforts, we will be playing another game to encourage you into donating to the cause! This time the task is to guess the average time it will take Tom and I to ride the 100 mile course (mean value for the mathematicians).
As this is the first time we have participated in the event, we cannot provide any previous performance data (like real athletes usually do!) but the following should be considered:
- If we actually complete the ride it will be a good effort.
- We have a 9 hour limit otherwise the organisers send out the search parties.
- We dont usually wear lycra and maybe underestimating the effects of "chaffing" on certain areas of the body.
- Tom is a good cyclist, Mark is currently internet searching "hidden bike motors"
Rules as follows:
Please select a time in hours and minutes only and email markanthonymellor@gmail.com with the time stating the following:
"I choose HH:MM as the average time"
Times will be given on a first come, first served basis. In the event that we do not make it the whole distance, times will be netted up to 100 miles based on the average speed of the miles completed and then averaged across both Tom and I.
The winner will be rewarded a special prize for guessing the closest average time to the actual time posted.
Good luck and thanks for helping to raise money for BCRT in memory of Chris.
