Story

WAY OF SAINT JAMES

Myself and my friend Sue are doing the "CAMINO DE SANTIAGO" otherwise known as the  "WAY OF ST JAMES" in September.

Just Giving is a safe secure way of donating, please give as much as you can to help make a difference for dementia, and to make the long journey all the more rewarding.

This is a centuries old pilgrimage which entails walking from St Jen Pied de Port in France across to Santiago de Compostela in north west Spain. It is a journey of 500 miles, which will take between 4 and 5 weeks to complete.

The following link provides information about the pilgrimage.

My aim is to raise as much money as possible for DEMENTIA UK. My lifetime work with the NHS has exposed me to dementia and its effects, my father also suffered from a form of Dementia.

This has inspired me to take on the challenge of the “Camino de Santiago”.

It’s a personal journey  but it’s also to give something back to those who have suffered and who are suffering from dementia, their families and carers.
