Story
3,500km across India in a rickshaw. For a great charity.
6 of us, Tom, Dave, Kier, Steven, Rich and Matt are heading out to India on 27th December.
The plan? To drive across India - from the southern tip to the border of Pakistan in two rickshaws, in two weeks. With no set route.
Why? To raise as much as we can for charity.
Which charity? Cool Earth. This is an amazing charity that's stepping up against rainforest destruction across the globe. With half of the rainforests having been destroyed in the last 40 years, and 25 million hectares being cleared every year, Cool Earth are helping the indigenous communities living in these areas to fight against clearance, and give them the resources they need to protect themselves and their communities from deforestation. The rainforest is home to 350 million people, and Cool Earth are helping these people to conserve their way of life and the biodiversity that's so important to the world.
Yes, it's going to be hard work, and probably a little dangerous, it will be an eye opening experience for all of us, and will hopefully be a lot of fun alongside having to fix our rickshaws every 20 miles, dodging potholes and lorries, and finding a place to sleep each night. We've got two weeks to cover the whole distance, driving through huge cities and remote hinterland, and hope to come out (relatively) unscathed the other side!
We will be eternally grateful to every one of you who can help us on our mission to raise as much as we can for Cool Earth. Anything will be hugely appreciated by all of us!
Thank you, and Namaste!
