Update.......
My legs have now recovered from completing the Etape, nice to be in the fastest 3000 of 10000 riders, though am personally just pleased to have reached the summit! The next big cycle is fast approaching - it's Carlisle-John O'Groats at the beginning of September.
I'm grateful to all who have already donated to this good cause (see below) but still at little way off target, so thanks in advance to any of you able to contribute - I'm off to buy some waterproofs!

Yes, more cycling madness.....
Next week I will once again be competing in the (amateur) Tour De France, attempting Etape 17 from Pau to the Col du Tourmalet, then just when my legs have recovered I will be cycling from Carlisle to John O'Groats!
Not just for glory though, it is all for a good cause - to raise money for the charity; www.getahead.org.uk
that fundraises for equipment and research to support those suffering from head and neck cancer.
This is important to me as a close friend of mine is bravely living with the condition and inspiringly trying to raise £100000 for the charity. I am lending my legs to the cause and I would be grateful for any donations you feel able to give.
Cheers
Rich
And for any cycling enthusiasts, see below for the stage profile
