Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In January 2011 a slightly tubby crack unit of 30 somethings looked in the mirror and acknowledged the crimes they'd committed over the seasonal period. These men promptly escaped from the maximum security stockade of their daily routines to form a plan. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as runners of fortune (FOR CHARITY!!). If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the F-Team: Vigilante Fellers.

F-Team are Rich Luscombe, Andy Shield and Andy Brentley. Our challenge is to run the traditional Wainwright Coast to Coast route between the Cumbrian coastal town of St Bees and the North Yorkshire coastal village of Robin Hoods Bay.

In order to complete this challenge the team will complete a 190 mile journey through 3 national parks (The Lake District, The Yorkshire Dales and The North Yorkshire Moors) taking in some of the toughest terrain that the North of England has to offer.

The route and schedule we are following is as folllows:

Day 1. (Friday 3rd June) St Bees - Ennerdale (13 miles)
Day 2. (Saturday 4th June) Ennerdale - Grasmere (24 miles)
Day 3. (Sunday 5th June) Grasmere - Shap (25 miles)
Day 4. (Monday 6th June) Shap - Keld (32 miles)
Day 5. (Tuesday 7th June) Keld - Bolton-on-Swale (28 miles)
Day 6. (Wednesday 8th June) Bolton-on-Swale - Clay Bank Top (29 miles)
Day 7. (Thursday 9th June) Clay Bank Top - Grosmont (22 miles)
Day 8. (Friday 10th June) Grosmont - Robin Hoods Bay (16 miles)

This is a huge challenge for each of the individuals involved as although each of us would have considered ourselves to be averagely fit before training towards this event (some more average than others). Not one individual has ever completed a road based marathon before never mind a fell marathon.

Further to this we have allowed ourselves only 4 months to achieve the levels of fitness necessary, not to mention the logistical and safety planning skills in order to complete this event something which others have given themselves at least 12 months to prepare for in the past.

So yes everyone this is going to be tough but we're determined and we are each representing a great cause and with your help and support we can raise awareness and money for these very worthwhile causes.

The F-Team
