A few years ago my father was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. He's since made a full recovery thanks to the advances made in recent years. So in light of that, I want to help the Prostate Cancer Charity with their efforts, and also to help raise awareness of the condition that affects so many.
So I'm running the
Great Scottish Run, 2007 - otherwise known as the Glasgow half marathon: I'm well on the way with my training, and hoping to complete the race in just over two hours. You can follow more about my
training on my website.
So please dig deep and sponsor me for as much as you can! My
consultancy company will also match your donation!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Prostate Cancer Charity will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your time, and thinking about sponsoring me!
Richard.
Update: I've been wonderfully overwhelmed by the support I've received so far, and I've not even started pestering anybody yet! (Brace yourselves: That's my plan for next month!). Because things have gone so well, I've revised my target to a whopping £1,500, although that's a lot to hope for! But it's a bit more fun aiming for a higher target than feeling I've met a lower one, so let's see how it goes! More details on
my sponsorship hopes on this weblog post.
Post-race Update: More to follow soon, but a quick note to say I completed the race in 1hr 52min 41secs! I'm hugely pleased with that, and couldn't have done it without the huge support I received from everybody who's sponsored me. More details to follow soon. Pictures are
available here.
