Story
14th April - Yessssssssss - I did it!!!!!!!!! 4 hours and 12 minutes, or 14,663rd place if you prefer! It was a fantactic day, the atmosphere and the support form the crowd was brilliant all day long, even through some pretty dodgy weather.
I would like to say a huge thank you to every one who has sponsored me, and for all of the encouragement along the way - this really has been brilliant!!
I also want to say thank you to my Mum and Dad, and Kay and Pete for coming along to support me on the day, but the biggest thank you of all has to go to Nikki, Edward and Hugo for all of their support and encouragement along the way. I've been out for hours and hours of training, I sometimes think they never saw me at all for the last 6 months, but it was always huge engouragement along the way! Being there in London to spur me on at miles 13 and 22 was extra special. I could not have have done it with out you - love you loads X X X X.

7th April - hello again! Just under 1 week to go and I cannot believe it has come around so quickly! Can I say a MASSIVE thankyou to everyone who has sponsored me to date, I have been truly surprised by everyone's generosity! If you haven't already there is still time to sponsor me, and as you can see any donation will be going to a very worthy cause.
Training has gone fairly well, apologies to those I have bored with stories of my sore foot! Anyway I do hope you get a chance to tune in and watch some of the race on Sunday, fingers crossed for some good weather....look out for an orange chicken...not!
thanks again, Richard
============================
Hi there,I've now made it to the ripe old age of 40yrs, and so to mark this momentous anniversary I thought I would set myself a challenge, and what better than to run the London Marathon on 13th April 2008, and to try and raise some money for a good cause at the same time.
I will be raising money for the childrens charity Whizz-Kidz - please visit their website for more details about all the good work they do. Any donation you can make will be most gratefully accepted, and will be a great motivation for my training runs! I was initially aiming to raise £1500, but given the fantastic response so far I have now increased my target to £2000. So any contribution would be very welcome.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me. Whizz-Kidz will receive your money faster and if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for visiting my fund raising page and taking the time to read this, it's only a very small step now to completing that sponsorship, so whilst you are here, why not?!
Many thanks once again for your support, Richard.
