Story
I have spent many years working with Young People. They are taught to be tolerant of those who might have issues which require, and deserve, our support. I recently took part in a blindfold activity and, I have to say, it was frightening. Losing my sense of sight, even for a short time, meant I had to rely on the person guiding me. Although I had total trust in my guide, I felt very alone. But not everyone has that support.
The work being done, by the Guide Dogs, to support our young people who suffer from sight impairment, is phenominal. It isn't just about having a dog. It is all the other things which we often take for granted...and being there for people who need a guiding arm. Please take time to look at some truly inspirational stories.

Over the past 18 months, fundraising has taken a massive hit, as with other charitable organisations. So, now is the time to start changing things.
I'm not in perfect physical fitness...far from it...but my challenge is to walk One Million steps in 3 months, starting on 1st September. It equates to walking from my home in Fife, Scotland to where I was born in Sheffield...and back again. In addition, I am going to stand on the 1st Golf Tee of the Old Course, St Andrews, get someone to blindfold me and then I will walk the whole course. Don't worry, it will be on a Sunday, so no play on it. Quite daunting!!
So, I've got my walking shoes, my step counter and my blindfold and I'm ready to go. All I now ask is that you consider helping me, please, by sponsoring as much as you can. It doesn't matter how small the amount. IT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
