Update 21-July-2008
Yes I did finish it. No I didn't win. It was a lovely morning in Hyde Park and I think the race went about as well as I could hope, being rather an amateur at this sort of thing. I finished in 45mins 12seconds. This would have been enough to get me a podium finsh, had there been 605 podia... Huge thanks to everyone who has sponsored me, and for those who haven't, you still can!

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
On Sunday 20th July I will be running 10km in the Great Capital Run. This may not be climbing Everest, but for someone who never runs anywhere unless there's a ball to chase or a bus to catch I assure you this is tantamount to temporary madness.
The idea for the whole enterprise came from a trip my girlfriend Ruth and I made to Rio in May. As tourists we saw very little of the problems that exists there, but even what we did see showed that there are levels of poverty and deprivation well beyond what you ever encounter in our own country. We are both running in this event to raise awareness of the important work done by Task Brasil, and hopefully to raise some funds to help them continue it.
To read more about Task Brasil please see http://www.taskbrasil.org.uk/about/ or feel free get in touch with me for more information.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Abandoned Street Kids of Brazil Trust - Task Brasil gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Many thanks for your support!
