Story
Watching the Tour de France every year brings memories of our great friend Nigel flooding back. He was a cycling guru; sports journalist, lean athlete and an expert entomologist to boot - there was very little he did not know about both the world of pro-cycling and also moths, butterflies and all manner of creepy-crawlies. When Nigel’s rare form of cancer first reared its head in his early 20s he underwent surgery which appeared to be curative.
We were families together climbing Snowdon one long pre-pandemic weekend when the first signs of recurrence appeared. The St Catherine’s Team were there to support him, Sarah and their family at the end of his life, allowing him the comfort and dignity he deserved. We have seen first hand the fantastic work that St Catherine’s Hospice do both personally and professionally, and feel privileged to fundraise for this amazing charity in Nigel’s memory. A funny, incredibly knowledgeable and inspirational friend who we miss every day. Thank you for supporting us, we really appreciate it.
