Story
I will be playing tennis for 24 hours at the National Tennis Centre on February 22nd/23rd as part of the Bright Ideas for Tennis 24 hour Tennis Marathon. This will help provide the opportunity for more people to play tennis and raise much needed funds for club facilities.
"This will be my 4th year in a row taking part. In my first 3 years I played for 4 hours, but this year I have been asked to play all 24 hours! This will no doubt be a huge challenge for me physically!
I have loved taking part in it before, Danny has an infectious passion that just grabs hold of you. Last Year I played a session with visually impaired tennis players, with the Pros wearing glasses that simulated how it looked like for them. We played with a ball that made sounds to help you know where the ball was and you were allowed 3 bounces. I was totally moved by the whole experience, the players were incredible and we all had so much fun....this is why I said yes again this year. It is an honour to be part of this amazing event and gives me the opportunity to give something back to this wonderful game that I have taken so much from.
It would be fantastic if you could support me."
Bright Ideas for Tennis prides itself on knowing that it has personally coached approximately 8000 players, has raised in excess of £600,000, and has provided a further 5000 hours of free community coaching schemes as a result.Their fundraising events have helped clubs to floodlight existing courts, resurface tired surfaces, and provide disability access / equipment where needed.
