Story
Hello, my name is Richard and I'm an idiot.
For a while now I have wanted to raise money for charity but I'm too lazy to run a half/full marathon. Instead I've decided to grow my beard for a few months and dye it white for Christmas (told you I'm an idiot).
What could possibly go wrong you ask? Well apparently no hairdresser/barber is stupid enough to dye it for me, so my attempt could fail. If that happens I'll do an equally stupid forfeit.
So why did I chose Children with Cancer as my charity? Well some of you will be aware cancer has influenced my life to a degree as both my parents have suffered from cancer and unfortunately my dad passed away 8 days after my 17th birthday because of it. However both my parents have or did surpass 50 years old, get married, have children and enjoyed many milestones in life, and some people aren't so lucky. It causes me serious distress thinking that children have to suffer the pain cancer causes and some don't live long enough to marry or enjoy milestones we take for granted. And it causes me even more sorrow thinking about how parents have to deal with their own pain of knowing this while being there for their children. I know the money I raise will create minimal change, if any, but if I help one child's life become better then all of it is worth it.
If you can spare anything or circulate this fundraising page please do, and I will keep you posted on the plan surrounding the beard and any other information.
Thank you,
Rich
