Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I know, I know! Why don't you run the London Marathon again!
Silly idea Richard - don't be stupid. Just focus on watching rubbish football.
But that little voice in my head was just too loud. So, god willing, on 3 October I will be joining the vast throng of runners to pound the streets of London.
Why? Well two reasons. Firstly a personal challenge. Having lost a few close family and friends this past year, life is too short. And there's part of me that wants to prove to myself I can still do 'it' as race day will be a few weeks shy of the 2nd anniversary of my ACL knee op! Not sure what 'it' is, but in this strange times in which we live it has given me greater focus.
Secondly and just as importantly, its a chance to support the wonderful work of the Railway Children, at a time when they, and other charities, need our help more than ever before. I've been fortunate through work, to have seen some of the vital projects they fund and, without wishing to sounding like Whitney Houston, children really are our future.
So once again I will be relying on the generosity of my friends. Thank you in advance from the bottom of my heart. And just for clarity, as much as I am determined to reach my target, I won't be prepared to run in a F*rest shirt!
