You would think at my age I would know better! But clearly not.

So at 4.30am on Monday 20th June 2011 I will be teeing off once again in the 2bm Longest Day Golf Challenge.

Touch wood, some 17 hours later I will be walking off the 72nd hole having completed four rounds of golf, walking close to twenty miles whilst carrying my increasingly heavy set of clubs in the process!

This year we're raising money for Maggie's Centre, who are due to open a new centre in the grounds of City Hospital later this year, offering a place to turn to for help with any of the problems, small or large, associated with cancer.
