Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page.

In memory of our much missed baby daughter Imogen and to mark the 40th anniversary of this amazing charity who helped us at our most desperate time, I'm doing a few fitness challenges in 2022 to raise funds for the Sick Children's Trust! Also being joined by some friends along the way!

January 2022: Sick Children's Trust's 3000 squats challenge. Completed! An exercise I truly hate, but hopefully this painful start will stand me in good stead for what is to follow.

March 2022: Cambridge Half Marathon. Completed!  I did this with my good mate Mike Timm, who has also been helped by the charity’s Acorn House accommodation in the city, and my brother Matty!

May 2022: 12km 'Nuclear Run' in Brentwood, Essex. Completed! A 12km mud run with 75 obstacles, slides and challenges along the way. Drew Southgate talked me into this one, and it left me utterly broken!

June 2022: North Norfolk Triathlon. Withdrew due to injury, sadly! An Olympic distance triathlon taking place at Wells-Next-The-Sea, Norfolk. A 1500m open water swim followed a 40km bike and a 10km run, some of which is on sand...! I suffered a back injury while training for this one, which meant I had to pull out. Gutted.

September 2022: The Great North Run. Completed! The epic half marathon in Newcastle, which took place on my birthday! My back injury was still causing big problems, but I somehow made it through! Big thanks to the Haley family, huge supporters of The Sick Children's Trust, for looking after me throughout the weekend.

Any donation, no matter how small, would be hugely appreciated for this wonderful charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a warm and comfortable place to stay when they need it most.

Thanks so much
