Story
I'm a Consultant Oncologist and prescribe chemotherapy for my patients to be given at the Sussex Cancer Centre.
I see how difficult that treatment is.
Our local charity: The Sussex Cancer Fund has over the years funded many improvements to the chemotherapy service, including building extensions, chemotherapy chairs, iPads for patients and car parking facilities.
After chemotherapy almost everyone suffers with fatigue. During the last few years it has become increasingly obvious that physical activity and exercise is an important way to reduce fatigue and help people cope better with their treatment. One way to support this is to use special leg-exercisers that patients can use during their hours in chemotherapy. I would like to fund 3 of these devices for our unit.
I'm hoping dropping from a great height on the 4th October might help me do that! I've paid all the charity costs to participate in this event up front so any donation will all go to Sussex Cancer Fund and not be paying for me to scare myself silly.
