The Great North Run is firmly established as the UK’s most popular half marathon, runners travel from far and wide to be part of this fantastic event.

Story

On 9th September, Sharmilee & Richard will join 56,997 runners in the world's largest half marathon. We've been training and hitting the pavements of Surbiton (and beyond), to prepare ourselves to take on this 13.1 mile challenge.

Both animal lovers, we're doing this to raise funds for Guide Dogs. These canine heroes do an amazing job to help the almost two million people in the UK who live with sight loss. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives. Guide Dogs works for a world where people with sight loss are never left out of life, for a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you.

We have a combined target of £600 to raise so any contribution towards it is hugely appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your support, it will help us to cross that finish line!!!! :-)

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
