Story
For the last 15 years The family of Lindsey Salsberry of Wellsville, Ohio has participated in a toy drive for Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital. Before COVID over 15,000 gifts have been delivered to the hospital. Because of COVID direct donations of toys is not possible. The only toy donation the hospital can accept are direct shipments from stores or vendors. However the hospital has set up this webpage dedicated to Lindsey to allow those that are interested to donate.
Lindsey was the salutatorian of Wellsville’s graduation class of 2004. She was diagnosed with a rare nerve cancer at the end of her freshman year at WVU. She was able to receive her treatment at Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital despite her age of 19 at the time. In the 22 months she fought her cancer, she endured countless surgeries, treatments and procedures always keeping her infectious smile on her face.
On her last Christmas, she mentioned a young girl she had befriended who had to spend Christmas Day in the hospital. She wished she could have gotten her a gift. Her friends and family have made that wish come true for so many children over the last 15 years. The toy drive in her memory started from her wish Thanks to any one who can help keep Lindsey’s wish to continue.
