Story
Originally for my 40th birthday, in May, i had organised for a group of riders from Stratford upon Avon Rugby Club to cycle to Paris over 3 days in the lead up to our annual tour with our sister club SCUF. Though we are hoping that this will still take place it will not happen in May and may not happen in 2020....we will just have to wait and see.
But i still want to do something to mark turning 40 so i plan to cycle on my turbo trainer for 20 out of the 24 hours of my birthday. 20 hours is about the same number that it would have taken for the total journey so there is some symmetry there.
I will start at 6pm on the 11th May and cycle in intervals of 2.5 hrs then have 30 minutes break and start the process again until i get to 6pm on the 12th.
I was meant to be doing a few CFC rides this year which have been cancelled so i imagine that their revenue is down this year and i know that they do an amazing job for young children with cancer so i hope to raise lots of money for such amazing people...just check out Mike Grisenthwaite's 20 in 20 for 2020.
Every day four families in the UK are told that their child has cancer, we feel passionately about supporting these families along this difficult journey. We help children to regain their physical fitness, strength and confidence by giving them new bikes, adapted trikes and specialist support during treatment and into recovery.
