Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
On Sunday 20 September 2009 I will be running the
Great North Run to raise money for Diabetes
UK. The Great North Run is the largest half marathon event (13.1 miles
or c. 20k) in the world. Despite a knee injury late in training, I enjoyed it so much that I'm doing it again again this year. For more details on this years run click on the link below:

I will once again be running to raise money for Diabetes UK. The reason for this choice is that my mum
was diagnosed as being diabetic in the last decade and is now insulin
dependent. This required a major change in her lifestyle and having to
become used to administering her own insulin. This was a particularly
massive challenge as she has never been fond of needles by her own
admission.
Diabetes UK aims to help improve the quality of
life of diabetics in the UK. The charity offers a wide range of
products and services to help diabetics manage their diabetes whatever
their needs. More information on the charity can be found at the link
below:
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I know times are tough at the moment but even small donations soon add up so please sponsor me whatever you can.
Thanks,
Richard
