I will be taking part in the Way of the Roses cycle challenge raising funds for the Mace Foundation. This is a 170 miles coast to coast  cycle between Morecambe and Bridlington.

In the last six years, the Mace Foundation has donated over £2.59m to hundreds of charities and worthy causes. Helping thousands of people around the world! The money raised from my challenge will support the Foundation to strength its charity partnerships with Construction Youth Trust, LandAid, Mind, Parkinson's UK, YHA Breaks for Kids and support our employee match funding programme.

This year, Mace employees voted Parkinson's UK as Mace Foundations Charity of the Year. Parkinson's is an incurable degenerative brain condition which can affect anyone at anytime, regardless of age, gender or race. In the UK, there are 145,000 people who have been diagnosed with this condition and manage it the best way they can with a cocktail of medication.

Money raised from my cycle ride will go towards the Parkinson's UK Helpline. The funds would be used to facilitate the running costs of this service so that it can reach as many people as possible to offer advice.  The Helpline receives over 2700 calls a month, and is run by trained advisers, including specialist nurses. The Helpline costs £18 an hour to run.
