Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm visiting my son Andrew and his wife Anika who are doctors working for a few months for Village Hopecore International medical charity in Chogoria, Kenya. In the final week Andrew has arranged for  us plus Anika's sister and father to trek on Mount Kenya. Originally I thought there's NO WAY that I could reach the summit of Pt Lenana at 4,985m (16,355ft) and that I'd just stay at the lodge taking photos. However I've started training seriously on my cross trainer and will be doing a 15 day acclimatisation program to reduce the chance of altitude sickness. To spur me on I decided to take the opportunity to raise money for EACH. For a number of years before I retired I was Medical Officer for the EACH hospice at Quidenham. I have therefore witnessed at first hand the amazing work done to relieve suffering and to provide support and respite for parents with children with cancer and severe longterm life threatening conditions.

Please give generously to support EACH and to spur me to the summit!
