Story
Most people wouldn't know that my good mate Darrell lives with constant pain 24/7 with SB so 13 miles walking is going to be very tough for him. He battles on without complaints and deals with it in his own way, as he does not want to bother others with his struggle. That's why I want to walk the 13 miles with him, to show that he isn't suffering alone and that he has got a great group of people around him, always there when he's in need! So to help me, help him out, I ask you to give as little or as much as you can to help us reach this goal for a charity so close to his heart. It's not going to be easy by any means!! Please read Darrell's story below:-
Darrell’s Story
Having just turned 40 I've decided I want to challenge myself while raising funds and awareness for Shine who do tremendous work. I was born with Spina Bifida and although most people couldn't tell from looking at me, I am in chronic pain 24/7. With the help of pain relief and some good doctors I lead a fairly normal life day to day, however I know I'm one of the lucky ones. Some days I struggle to walk 100 yards so 13 miles is going to be a real challenge for me. However I want to do this while I can and before age takes over! On the 20th May I will be attempting to walk part of the Wye Valley and Offa's Dyke Walk from Chepstow to Tintern, over the which river and back is a moderate to difficult trail with many steep hill's and step's. To support me and get me through this, I have 15 incredible friends and family members joining me. Therefore please donate whatever you can to support us and make this a real success not only for my own Target.
