Having decided to enter the UCI world championship sportive a while ago it was just go for a casual ride and enjoy the day until I had a chance meeting with Darren Maull at a local event.

This spurred me on to think I should try and raise some money again for this great cause and also to challenge myself at the same time

So I am participating in the UCI world championship sportive long route on the 22nd of September and aim to complete the 97 miles 6300ft climbing in 6 hours total including food stops, toilet breaks the lot.

This may not seem a massive challenge but as this is in Yorkshire they don't seem to like flat roads like us Yellowbelly's so will test me to my limits, even to the point that my wife has asked me if my life insurance is up to date!
