DiverseAbilitiesPlus is an independent charity founded in 1955 by a Bournemouth mum with a new baby diagnosed with profound disabilities. This local charity has grown over the last 50 years and now offers specialist services to numeour families across Bournemouth Poole and Dorset.

I recently visited Langside School, an independent specialist day school for children and young people from the age of 2 to 19 who have profound and multiple learning and physical disabilities. Their main aim is to give these incredible people the dignity and right wherever possible to make their own choices about their life and work situation and the activities in which they engage.
