Like many organisations our income has been severely hit by the restrictions imposed on our organisation. We depend on income from our members and grants to cover our fixed costs and running costs, so the curtailment of activities has hit us hard.

Story

I left Dartmouth UK in August and have been sailing down to the start line of the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria via Spain, Portugal, Madeira & Lanzarote. See blog  at RAVEN - Atlantic Circuit 2021-22 (mailasail.com)

The ARC leaves on 21 st November, crossing to St Lucia where I will spend Christmas before cruising the Caribbean, getting to Bermuda in May for passage back to England vis the Azores. Various friends and family are joining me as crew for different legs of the trip.

I started volunteering at Whitefriars ,based in Cotswold Water Park near Cirencester, see Sailing for the disabled - Whitefriars (whitefriarssc.org) in early 2021, though as a clumsy unqualified dinghy sailor I have not yet been a lot of use to them but hope to become more so in coming years! It is hoped to raise some money for Whitefriars through donations towards the crew caps and shirts which we have got for the Atlantic trip. Funds raised will go towards the upkeep of the club's boats - new sails, covers etc , which help to get the maximum number of sailors out on the water .
