Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

This is the sixth time I will be running the London Marathon on behalf our charity, Task Brasil Trust. I have been a trustee of the charity for nearly 10 years and have learned a lot about the amazing work that we do to benefit neglected children in Rio.

Almost all our fundraising work is done by volunteers such as me and the small group of amazing trustees. A huge amount of work is undertaken on a daily basis and all the trustees are completely self funded; so your donations wont go towards our flights to Rio etc.

We receive no support from the authorities in Brazil and the local bureaucracy makes our life harder on a seemingly monthly basis. It is easy to give up.

But like the marathon itself, we wont give up in the knowledge that we make a big difference in children's lives who have nowhere else to turn to. We offer them teaching, food, sports and social care under our safe haven.

Thanks for reading this.
