Story

In a moment of complete madness I agreed to take part in the Commentators Challenge at Newmarket on Cesarewitch Trials Day (September 22nd) as part of the superb Newmarket Open Weekend.

On a race to be announced (please God, not a 20 runner 6 furlong handicap!) I will take to the commentary position on the Rowley Mile and deliver my best, which on the evidence of early practice efforts will not be terribly good! But, as with everything in life, I will give it my best shot.

Why did I accept? Because this is all in aid of Racing Welfare, specifically the Newmarket Housing Project for young racing staff. As a Trustee of this superb charity I know what an excellent venture this is.

Any support that you felt able to give would be hugely appreciated. Many, many thanks!
